About the audio converter

The audio converter takes any common sound file and re-encodes it to another format, server-side and in seconds. Audio format friction is everywhere : a podcast host that only accepts MP3, a music app that needs Opus for bandwidth, a DAW project that requires lossless WAV, an iOS device that prefers M4A, a Discord bot that streams OGG, or a Bandcamp upload that wants FLAC. The audio converter handles every common transition without juggling desktop apps. Use cases stretch across podcasters preparing episodes for distribution, musicians sharing rough mixes with collaborators, video editors extracting clean tracks, language students saving lessons in a smaller format, journalists archiving interviews, and developers preparing audio assets for games or web players. Under the hood, the pipeline wraps ffmpeg in a constrained Rust service. We probe the input to confirm the declared format, then re-encode to the target codec with sane defaults : 192 kbps CBR for MP3, 16-bit 44.1 kHz PCM for WAV, level-5 compression for FLAC, libvorbis quality 5 for OGG, AAC-LC 192 kbps for M4A, and libopus VBR 128 kbps for Opus. Sample rate and channel layout are preserved unless the target codec forbids them. Metadata is copied opportunistically. The whole audio converter runs server-side ; your file is decoded in a streaming pipe and never lands on disk. A content-hash cache makes re-conversions instant. What sets BastosConvert apart : no watermark on the audio output, no signup, no upsell, and a deterministic encoder configuration so the same input always produces the same bytes.
